The United Civil Society Organisations for National Development (UCSOND) is an NGO working in the six coastal districts, and the Wassa Amenfi East District of the Western Region of Ghana. Each of these districts is either affected by the operations of the oil and gas industry, mining activities or both. Our mission is to mobilise and empower civil society organisations to demand accountability and transparency in the governance of natural resources and public service delivery. We represent more than one hundred member groups, consisting of community-based organizations, civil society organisations, faith-based organisations, farmers groups, women groups, youth groups, trade groups and artisans. Our operations are in the following thematic areas: natural resource governance, local governance, basic social services and economic empowerment. Our work is supported by donors notably DANIDA, USAID, EU and UKAID”.
